The gubernatorial aspirant says that job creation will top his development agenda if he wins the governor seat in the August general election.

Mr Abdi who is contesting on the Third-Way Alliance of Kenya said that unemployment remains a serious issues in the county adding that it is to blame for high cases of crime and drug abuse among young people.

He said that unemployment has contributed to radicalization and terror activities.

“My first agenda if elected governor will be to ensure that every young person has a job or something meaningful to earn a living,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.

Abdi said that unemployment remains a menace despite the mitigation put in place.

The aspirant also pledged to champion women empowerment. He observed that women rights have been ignored in the region.

“I will work with women and Persons Living with Disabilities to ensure that their interests are catered for,” he said.

Abdi asked incumbent Ahmed Abdullahi to prepare for a humiliating defeat in the August polls.
