Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwadeghu has objected ODM’s decision to conduct nominations in five Taveta polling stations where voting did not take place. The five polling stations according to the party’s National Election Board (NEB) are Jipe Primary School, Chala Primary, Mahandakini Primary, St Joseph Kivuko Primary and Chala Njukini Primary.NEB said the exercise will be conducted on Saturday. But Mwadeghu has opposed the move and instead blamed Governor John Mruttu for the delays. He also wants the county boss barred from contesting claiming he incited his supporters to cause chaos, the Star has reported.During the Wednesday primaries, provisional results showed Mwadeghu got 17,567 votes while Mruttu had 14,817 votes to clinch the ticket. However, the NEB has put on hold the results until after voting in the five polling stations is completed and all the votes counted. On Wednesday, Mruttu said the exercise was marred by irregularities, claiming there were plans to rig him out. He alleged that most of the officials sided with his rival, Mwadeghu. He said his efforts to get the officials at the party headquarters in Nairobi to address his concerns have not borne fruit.
