The former Rift Valley Provincial Commissioner (PC) claims that there is laxity among security agencies in ending insecurity in North Eastern.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Noor said that rising cases of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) attacks being reported in some counties in Northern Kenya are worrying.

He claimed that security for North Eastern locals is longer guaranteed. The governor hopeful said that even politicians are afraid of conducting campaigns for fear that their campaign convoys could run over IEDs.

‘‘We are concerned over the state of insecurity and urge the national government to do the necessary and assure locals of safety,’’ he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

Noor asked the security agencies to change its tactics and confront suspected terror agents to their hide outs.

Meanwhile, the governor hopeful wants the government to form an inquiry to investigate the alleged killing of five people whose bodies were found buried in a mass shallow grave in Mandera on Monday.

Noor said that the discovery of the five bodies, including that of an 80 year old woman has raised fears among residents.

“We want to know the truth on who killed the five Kenyans and why,” he said.

Bodies of five people were found buried in shallow grave in Bambo area, Mandera County by herders on Monday. According to residents, the five people had gone missing one week ago.

Human rights activities are now pointing an accusing finger to government security agencies with leaders calling for faster probe and action against the perpetrators.
