Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye has urged area residents not to vote for the former Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku in the forthcoming August general elections.
Nkedianye dismissed Lenku, the Jubilee nominee for governor race, saying he is ‘a known national failure’.
“God forbid this one (Lenku) be elected. He will bring down this county in many ways. It is my prayer that the people of Kajiado see the light by rejecting him,” Nkedianye said as he addressed teachers from the region over the weekend.
The Governor added: “If he failed to handle the docket in the Interior ministry, how do you expect him to manage the entire country and its huge budget? He is just a joke.”
Nkedianye also accused the former CS and his running mate Martin Moshisho of peddling lies against him in their campaigns.
“My competitors are just a team of masqueraders wanting to clinch power through the back door,” he said.
The county boss said he will be re-elected because his administration has rolled out many development projects since he took over power in 2013.
