Maendeleo Chap Chap leader and Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has said he is God’s choice to lead Kenyans. Speaking while popularizing his party in Busia, Mutua warned voters against electing vision-less and corrupt leaders.

Mutua said, "God uses leaders to reach citizens. I am ready since God has chosen me.”

According to Mutua, poor leadership and corruption are the reasons Kenya does not progress. He was surprised at how well Kenya is ranked globally in terms of corruption as opposed to economic prosperity.

"We are the fools who elect bad leaders every five years and expect change. Let the leaders show their scorecards before you give them another contract," Mutua said.

The former government spokesperson said that Kenyan riches are misappropriated due to bad politics. According to Mutua, voters should be at the forefront of changing leadership. Mutua said if everyone purposes to vote out all corrupt politicians then our country will develop economically, socially and politically.

"Kenya is a rich country with too much politics. But the problem is not the leaders. It is us who keep on making the same mistake. We only need development-oriented leaders in MCC. We cannot embrace corrupt leaders who will continue fooling us and end up finishing our country," said Mutua.
