Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has said his government is committed to fighting the garbage menace in the city.

While taking the exercise to several parts of the city ahead of last weekend, Sonko's message was that they were keen on eradicating dirt from the streets and homes of Nairobi.

"Leo nimeamua nijifanyie kazi ya Clean up Near Ngara Girls High School," he said. (Today I've myself decided to do the clean-up near Ngara Girls High School.)

Prior to this, the governor had taken the cleaning exercise to Huruma along Juja Road as well as Maji Marzuri in Kasarani.
