Governor Nathif Jama on Tuesday officially commissioned and confirmed the newly built administration block and fully equipped ICT classrooms of Dadaab Youth Center in Dadaab town.
The Youth Polytechnic will now be a talent institution for the young men and women who are not able to acquire secondary school education.
Speaking during the function, Jama said that the facility will offer technical skills to the local youths who miss slots in higher education, thus solving the unemployment challenges that is rampant in the county.
"For this Polytechnics we are putting all over the County, this is an initiative by the Garissa County Government and its aim is to build very modern Youth polytechnics in order for our young people to acquire knowledge, and practical skills and kill the idleness disease," he said.
"This polytechnic is never meant for failures, but for individuals with passion in technical skills such as sewing, tailoring, masonry and carpeting," he added.
Earlier in the day, the county chief had also flagged off a new Dadaab fire engine with state of art equipment.
