Garissa Governor Nathif Jama received support from Garissa-based pastors Fellowship Clerics and Christian union society, largely boosting his bid as the race for next year's polls hits top gear.
Speaking in Garissa after the pastors meeting, Heads of unions led by Pastor Joseph Mwasiya said that Governor Jama was the best suited candidate for the seat due to his development record and having helped to bring together communities in the vast county without religious and tribal lines.
Pastor Mwasiya further added that Governor Jama's quest to unite and bring harmony among the different religious groups and ethnicity is what the Commission of National Cohesion and Integration showed Garissa among the counties that made a vulnerable groups.
The Governor welcomed the support saying that he owed it to all of them for the vote of confidence, trust and honour that they bestowed upon him for the second time.
“Our people have spoken once again and re-affirmed their choice for the 2017 gubernatorial race, and we are only showcasing our track records for it should speak (for) itself without any objections, thanks to devolution," governor Jama said.
