Former Garissa Finance CEC Ahmed Aden has been fired just two weeks after being transferred to the Environments and Energy department.
In a letter dated July 25, Governor Jama sacked the official saying he was negligent and incompetent. He said Aden had not even reported to his new docket two weeks after the reshuffle.
“Neither have I granted for any approval to your unofficial being out of office, nor am I even aware of any circumstances that led to such lengthy absenteeism case from your official work station,” reads the dismissal letter as quoted by a local daily.
Several weeks ago, the county assembly Accounting Committee had summoned Aden and probed him for Ifmis printouts and payments for projects he had made in 2015/16 financial year.
Aden, however, did not provide the said documents but instead requested for more time. He was thereafter, moved to the Environment docket a day later.
Within a time frame of three years, Jama has reshuffled his executive committees for over eight times, with four of the changes affecting the Finance department.
In the same time span he has also sacked five executives.
