Garissa Governor Nathif Jama has urged locals to endorse his re-election for progressive development.
Jama says that the county will stall in terms of development if locals endorse rivals eying the seat.
He said that his government has transformed the county’s development sphere and will do more if elected.
“I have delivered on the pledges I made to Garissa people and I urging them for another term to enable me initiate more development projects,” he said on Saturday during final campaign rally at Masalani in Garissa.
Jama cautioned residents against rivals saying they have no clear development agenda for the county.
Jama claimed that rivals have no development agenda and only interested in getting power and satisfying their personal interests.
Governor Jama urged locals to make wise decisions and vote for leaders who have realistic development goals.
Jama is facing tight re-election bid with stiff competition from former Permanent Secretary (PS) Ali Bunow Korane who is seeking to unseat him on Jubilee party ticket.
Korane enjoys the support of Garissa Township MP Aden Duale and has vowed to send Jama home.
Garissa senator Yusuf Haji’s younger brother Bashir Haji is also in the race vying on Amani National Congress (ANC) party.
