Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has been given a stern warning to keep off Taita Taveta politics.Speaking on Tuesday, Mombasa ODM deputy chairman Juma Mwambogha asked Joho, who is also the ODM party leader, not to interfere with nominations in Taita Taveta, as the move will rock ODM's unity in the region that is considered an opposition turf."We are asking Governor Joho to leave Taita Taveta residents to elect leaders of their choice, but if you continue meddling in the county's politics and cost ODM the seat, we wonder who will welcome you next time you visit the county,” said Mwambogha, as quoted by the Nation.Despite losing to Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwadeghu in the just-concluded ODM nominations in the county, Joho is said to be favouring the incumbent Governor John Mruttu, something that created a standoff as the two political rivals demanded nomination certificates with each one claiming to have won the contest. However, the party has since weighed in on the matter and gave Mwadeghu the certificate. Also in the neighboring Kwale county, the firebrand Governor has been at the receiving end amid claims of having preferred candidates as some aspirants threaten to ditch the party.
