A Nairobi Court quashed an application by the Chief Licensing Officer Samuel Kimaru, to revoke Mombasa County governor Ali Hassan Joho's firearm certificate.
Terming it as unlawful, High Court Judge George Odunga reversed a decision made by the Court in March 16, which saw Joho denied access to his firearms.
This was in-relation to the Malindi Constituency by-election, where Joho was accused of using the weapon to intimidate the public during campaigns.
The Court also Friday, warned Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Nkaissery against intimidating or threatening the governor in-relation to the ownership of the fire arm.
The judge said there was no evidence to link Joho to the misuse of the fire arm.
Joho had filed an appeal to quash the earlier decision, where Nkaissery threatened to arrest him if he failed to surrender his firearm.
