Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho received a grand reception during his visit to Kisumu on Friday.
Joho was received by his hosts, Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma and the county Senator Anyang' Nyong'o.
The leaders arrived in Kisumu in a convoy of over 100 Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) branded vehicles.
He then toured different parts of the County ahead of Saturday’s mega rally that is to be attended by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The ODM deputy party leader held different meetings with ODM delegates in the region as he sought to consolidate the party’s support ahead of the 2017 General Election.
The meetings are aimed at harmonizing the best policies and campaign mythologies for ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Thousands of ODM supporters thronged the city streets to welcome Joho as he headed to the city centre from the Kisumu International Airport.
In his address, Joho urged ODM supporters to work together to ensure the party was strong ahead of 2017.
Saturday rally will be the third, organised by Joho in a span of three four weeks, coming after similar events in Mombasa and Nairobi budded "ODM At 10" celebrations.
ODM is set to make a major announcement, dubbed “Kisumu Declaration in the rally to be held on Saturday afternoon.
