Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has insisted plans to have a dry port in Naivasha, Nakuru county will negatively affect the people of Mombasa.

Joho told off Deputy President William Ruto over the setting up of the port.

“You (Ruto) say we don’t understand dry port, I will teach you port matters” Joho said.

The Deputy President had referred to the governor, who has been rejecting the setting up of the port, as an academic dwarf who has little grasp of such matters.

Joho has consistently claimed the dry port will hurt the coast economy leading to job losses.
