Mvita MP Abdulwasmad Nassir has called for unity among NASA and Jubilee politicians in Coast region.
Speaking in Mombasa on Friday, the Mvita legislator said that time has come for them to work in unity for the sake of development.
The Mvita legislator said that Coast region continues to suffer in terms of development because leaders are not united.
He said that the region stands to gain from the national government if leaders put their differences aside.
"We must unite as a region and champion our interests in one voice," he said.
Governor Joho's ally said that the region has able leaders who if they unite, have capability of ascending to top leadership I'm 2022.
He asked elected leaders to put their party affiliations aside and work on improving the living standards of the people.
The lawmaker who alongside other opposition legislator's joined deputy president William Ruto in inspecting projects in Jomvu vowed to work with Uhuru's government.
He said that it is only through collaboration with the national government that the needs of the people will be tackled.
The Mvita lawmaker asked Coast residents to work closely with leaders and demand for development.
Nassir also urged the national government to support projects that will uplift the living standards of the people.
Last week President Uhuru Kenyatta met with NASA Raila Odinga and agreed to push for national dialogue.
Their meeting has been lauded and embraced by politicians across the divide who have vowed to bury their differences and work for Kenyans.
