Kiambu county government has promised to support three children with disability from Joytown Secondary School by sponsoring their education up to the university level.
Speaking during the donation and launching of equipment for the students at the institution, Kiambu county governor William Kabogo said that education is one of the essential tools which can be granted to the disabled children to enable them live a better life.
He said that the disabled have been included in the county government plans with a department put in place to cater for their needs.
He hailed the deputy president who graced the event for a directive issued to the ministry of education to deliver 100 laptops to the students in that institution saying that the digitalization of children with disability will also raise the education structure in Kiambu County as it will be a stepping stone to greater heights.
He said that Kiambu County will continue giving children with disability the required support to make sure they feel at home and safe while mingling with the other children.
The governor also revealed that a hospital has been set up in the institution with a doctor in the facility 24hours a day to cater for the children who need their help.
