Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has refuted claims that he has parted ways with Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula to join Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi as he seeks to defend his seat during the next general polls.

Khaemba affirmed that he is a loyal member of the party adding that he has not considered the idea of defecting.

The outspoken governor also noted that he ascended to power through the party and he has the mandate to fulfill the promises he made to the people during his campaigns.

In his defense over his close ties with DP William Ruto, he pointed out that working with the government when it comes to matters of development does not mean he has disrespected the Party leader as alleged by reports from the media.

"I had to fulfil the promises I made to my people by leaving behind party affiliations. But it does not mean I am disrespectful to the party," he said, as quoted by the Star.

Khaembe also said he cannot disrespect the current President or his deputy whenever he tours the region with the aim of initiating projects that will benefit his people.

He further rubbished claims that he has been using funds meant for the common Mwananchi when it comes to funding Party activities.
