Speaking on Thursday, Wiper Party leader confirmed Kibwana's defection to the party that could see the governor handed a direct nomination ticket.

"We will table the documents to the NationalGoverning Council in Wiper for ratification. Thatis where issues of direct nomination will be discussed," the former Vice President said.

Kalonzo further revealed that the governor's defection to Wiper could resolve unending differences witnessed between Kibwana and Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.

"From today Mutula and Kibwana will be speaking in one voice," he said.

Kibwana had been previously challenged to dissolve his Muungano Party and join forces with Wiper Party by a section of Ukambani leaders.

Despite the governor's defection, Muungano Party is set to remain according to guidelines set during the signing of a coalition pact between the party and Wiper.
