Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has urged Kamba leaders who ditched Wiper party to return 'home' to ensure unity in the community.
Speaking in Wote on Wednesday, Kibwana said the division among the Kamba leaders had caused contempt, scorn and disrespect by other communities.
Kibwana said the Kamba community should vote as a block in 2022 elections but noted that it can't be achieved unless there is unity.
“I call upon Kisoi Munyao, David Musila, Governor Alfred Mutua and every Kamba leader who was once in Wiper, the doors are still open. Come let's bury the hatchet and work together for our people," Kibwana said.
Kibwana said he is ready to relinquish the Wiper party chairman position for the former Kitui senator David Musila to take over.
“We have no time, Kamba votes should be relevant in 2022 elections. I'm willing to step down for Musila if he wants, we want things to be as they were before the division," he added.
He said the issue will form part of the agenda in the Kamba meeting that will take place at Komarock in Matungulu Sub County on Easter Monday.
