Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta's call for lifestyle audit of all government officials.

However, Kibwana has challenged the president to give directives that the auditing reports should be made public.

Kibwana who spoke during a prayers breakfast meeting on Monday said property acquired through unscrupulous means should be repossessed by the government.

“Lifestyle audit is good if done well, but if one doesn’t declare part of his wealth then the property ought to be taken by the government,” Kibwana said.

The Governor further called on the president to tighten his fight against corruption.

He said it will be President Kenyatta's biggest legacy if he wins the war on corruption, even than achieving his big four agendas of food security, Housing, healthcare and manufacturing.

“I support the fight against corruption, it’s not easy to win the fight but we in Makueni if the president wants us to fight corruption we will do so,” Kibwana said.

He continued, “If the president wins in the fight against corruption, then it will be the biggest part of his legacy. In actual fact, the big four will be his Sub-legacy.”
