Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi on Friday took his re-election campaigns to Malindi constituency where he castigated President Uhuru Kenyatta for allegedly dividing the country along tribal lines.

Speaking after meeting opinion leaders from Jilore, Kakuyuni and Malindi Town wards, Kingi claimed that over the past four years of Jubilee leadership, the President has economically suffocated regions that they view as politically unfriendly.According to Kingi, the Jubilee regime has sidelined the Coast region in national development agenda, leaving the region lagging behind as other counties prosper.Kingi said that whereas the government continues to allocate billions of shillings to revive agricultural projects in other areas, the coastal region has been 'intentionally' ignored in the government's development agenda. While urging the locals to reject President Uhuru Kenyatta during the August 8 elections, Kingi said that only a NASA government led by Raila Odinga will help to address the problems bedeviling the region. The fiery Governor added that the NASA government will work to ensure equitable distribution of resources and unify Kenyans. He accused his rival Gideon Mung'aro of being used by the current regime for selfish political interests.
