Rivalry among NASA affiliate parties in now threatening to deal a blow to the coalition's support in Kilifi County which is considered the political bedrock of the alliance.

The recent campaign rally by the opposition in the county has reignited sibling rivalry with Governor Amason Kingi being on the receiving end for sidelining other parties in the coalition. While accusing the Governor of turning NASA rallies into an ODM affair in Mariakani and Rabai, leaders in the county gave Kingi 24-hours to address the matter before they make a declaration.Led by Mariakani MCA Said Mwachenda, the leaders said the firebrand Governor is sabotaging other parties in the region which he said may backfire in the coalition's quest to eclipse Jubilee from power. This comes after Kingi asked residents to embrace the six-piece voting pattern saying that the region is an ODM zone."I was called by the Wiper head office and advised to attend the rally because it was a NASA rally. But those who were publicizing the rally said that it was for ODM," Mwachenda said.Mwachenda who was elected on an ODM ticket in 2013 before decamping to Wiper said leaders from other NASA affiliate parties were not allowed to address supporters. On their part, Ford Kenya leaders accused Kingi of rocking NASA unity in the county which they said will give the Raila Odinga-led alliance a false start in their quest to beat Jubilee in the August polls.
