Nakuru town has become the home of street urchins and families.

From a footbridge just before the Nakuru-Eldoret roundabout at Cigma building, outside Pinkam house and at the CK Patel building, dirty kids dot the areas sniffing the stuff.

The families have become so bold that they wash their clothes and hang them outside people's businesses to dry.

When darkness sets in, they spread their bedding outside Pinkam, others along the footbridge heading to Nakuru county hospital and sleep.

Residents have been complaining as they turn into a nuisance often with their fights every minute, reeking odour and begging nature.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has, however, promised to address the issue.

"The issue of street children has been brought to my attention. I have heard discussions with different people and you can rest assured we will soon have a lasting solution to this menace," Kinyanjui said.
