Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has waded into the ongoing debate over the 2022 succession politics.
The soft-spoken governor said the current wind of politicking is slowly plunging the country into an election mood which will be bad for development.
The county boss said leaders should first focus their attention and energy on serving Kenyans.
.“If a visitor to Kenya was to go through our media and political reporting, they would easily conclude that we are in an election season. The political rhetoric is at an all-time high. This notwithstanding major challenges that continue to afflict Kenyans,” Kinyanjui said.
Kinyanjui spoke on Sunday a day after he hosted Deputy President William Ruto in Kuresoi South on Sunday.
The DP also urged politicians to keep off 2022 debate and wait for that time.
