Garissa Governor Ali Bunow Korane has urged county employees to strictly adhere to the Chapter Six of the constitution on integrity, transparency, and accountability in service delivery

Speaking to journalists at the county offices in Garissa Town on Tuesday, Korane warned that his government will take stern action on employees who reach the terms and conditions of Chapter Six.

The Jubilee governor issued a stern warning to corrupt staff saying that their days are numbered if they don’t reform.

“I want to tell and remind the county that I will not tolerate any form of corruption and whoever engages in will be dealt with accordingly,” he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

Korane said that his government has put in place proper measures to guard misuse public resources and especially corruption.

The governor said that he has established a full-fledged department monitor and take action against those (employees) who will engage in graft.

 He added that his government is closely working with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and other relevant national government agencies to conduct lifestyle audits on county employees.

The Jubilee governor claimed that corruption was rife in the previous government noting that it stalled development.

Korane pledged equality and fairness in the distribution of public resources to locals across the county.

The governor assured locals that his government is keen to fulfill the development pledges it made to residents during campaigns.

He asked residents to ignore his critics who he claimed are running smear campaigns against him on social media.
