Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso on Tuesday surprised her staff when she declined to use a special seat that was used by her predecessor, Isaac Ruto.
Laboso instead opted for an ordinary office chair.
The Jubilee governor, who won by a landslide in the general election, also directed her staff to refer to her as “Masam Governor”, and not “Your Excellency”.
"I will not want to see a special seat being carried around for me, I do not have time for luxury, my staff's energy should be channelled to service delivery not trying to please me," she said, as quoted by The Standard.
She was speaking at the Bomet Green Stadium where she flagged off a clean up exercise.
