Governor said the acquisition of the machine is a milestone in ensuring the recently upgraded hospital has enough services, so that patients from the county can get the scanning services within.

“Patients now have the CT scan here, and it will help scan them with inner problems like fractures, intestinal complications, pelvis among many others,” said Ongwae.

“I ask the management to charge lowest rates possible that majority of our people can afford like 50 percent less than in private sector,” he added.

Speaking at the Hospital, the hospital Director Dr Enock Ondari said they will not charge patients more than they can afford.

On the other hand, the governor said his government is determined to add more machines, so that all complications can be handled there including referred cases.

“We will buy other diagnosing machines to complete Diagnostic units so that all cases can be handled here,” he pledged.

Ongwae also said they have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kisii University, to introduce faculty of medicine as they have all the requirements.

The vice chancellor Kisii University Prof John Akama said they will train Doctors on the handling of the machine to enable better services.
