Nakuru governor Kinuthia Mbugua was one of the attendants of the first-ever kids’ show in Nakuru town over the weekend.
The governor was accompanied by Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri and county assembly speaker Susan Kihika.
Mbugua noted that Nakuru was heading towards the right direction when it comes to entertainment.
“Together with you, we can make Nakuru a better entertainment place,” the governor said after attending the Kids Festival, hosted by funnyman Churchill.
“We do not need to go to Nairobi to have fun. I thank Churchill for giving Nakuru-based comedians a platform to perform,” Mbugua said.
More than 30,000 children attended the show held at the ASK showground and were entertained by artistes and comedians from the Laugh Industry.
Comedian Daniel “Churchill” Ndambuki, the organiser, thanked the governor for the warm welcome and parents for bringing their children to the show.
According to Kamau Njoroge, a parent who brought his son to the event, the show was one of a kind.
“The kids were entertained by all the comedians from Eric Omondi, David the Student, Smart Joker, Karis . . . the list is endless. I hope the same will happen next time when the kids are on holiday,” he said.
Peter Kinyanjui, a 10-year-old who attended the event, said it was a fun event that provided him an opportunity to meet his friends.
