Isiolo Governor Godana Doyo has decamped from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party ahead of nominations set for Friday. He has found a new home in the Party of Development and Reforms (PDR), which is expected to be his re-election vehicle.The governor, who said that the little-known party is ‘Jubilee-friendly’, revealed that at least five other gubernatorial aspirants had decamped from Jubilee to PDR, The Nation is reporting.The county boss cited concerns over openness and lack of Jubilee Party structures in Isiolo as the reason for his move. “I was concerned over mechanisms put in place to manage party affairs, especially in Isiolo County,” he told the Nation.The governor said he was opposed to the idea of subjecting sitting county bosses to party primaries. He added that he supports President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in August even though he left the party.
