With the country having just come out of a political season, politicians and citizens are now looking forward to the 2022 razzmatazz.

In Nakuru, as is always the case, a new set of leaders will come up in an attempt to replace the incumbents, with the most anticipated contest being the gubernatorial race.

Among the ones likely to show up for the contest is the current Senator Susan Kihika, who impressively thrust her way to the Senate in the August 8 polls.

The Senator is deemed one of the most popular leaders in the county and is likely to complicate the race, should she declare interest in replacing Governor Lee Kinyanjui.

Nakuru East Member of Parliament David Gikaria would also make it a tough one should his earlier declaration to contest for the seat materialize.

Gikaria has said he is considering taking a shot at the post in the near future.

Also likely to be in the race is former Naivasha lawmaker John Mututho who unluckily gave a stab at the post in the concluded poll.

The former National Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) boss lost in the race for the Jubilee Party ticket.

However, the race is likely to further take shape as the date draws nearer, with more candidates expected to join the contest.

The first-term county chief is also likely to make attempts to retain his post.
