Elders have accused Governor Lonyangapuo of being behind inter-community clashes including bandit attacks and cattle rustling.
While leading Tugen elders at a media briefing, Reverend Chirchir accused the West Pokot county boss of failing to stop bandit attacks.
"In fact, every time he visits, instead of calming down the situation, you always hear raids the following day. People are wondering if he incites fights," Chirchir said.
The elders asked him to concentrate on affairs within his own county.
The statement came barely a week after the Governor toured Tiaty sub-county to ask Pokots to stop launching attacks against neighbouring communities.
"You are getting poorer by losing millions of money while stealing livestock from the neighbouring communities," he told residents.
The West Pokot Governor called up on the community to embrace peace and coexist together as brothers and sisters in order to chat the way forward to better their living.
"What gain will you benefit if you kill your neighbour only to take his three goats, then at same time, owing to insecurity, the government withholds back Sh300 million money development money intended to put up roads, water, health and education," Lonyangapuo said.
