KANU West Pokot governor John Lonyangapuo has urged their supporters countrywide to ignore calls by the opposition chief Raila Odinga to boycott the elections.
He said it is their democratic right to participate in the exercise.
"The Supreme Court said that elections should be repeated within 60 days and we will go by that. If elections are not conducted it will be contempt of court," he said in Eldoret town, Monday.
"I want to urge our party members to come out in large numbers and vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta since as a party we decided to back his presidential bid," he added.
He reiterated that they're ready for the elections to matter NASA threats and intimidations.
"As KANU leaders we are ready for the elections. We want this thing to end once and for all, for heaven sake Kenyans are suffering. We cannot stay in an electioneering period forever," noted Lonyangapuo.
He, however, warned the opposition leader Raila Odinga for wanting to divide Kenyans by saying that he will announce way forward on Wednesday.
"I read malice in his utterances. Why should he unleash the secret now? Why is he putting Kenyans in anxiety? As leaders we won't allow him to tear the country apart since we are mandated by the constitution to protect Kenyans," he added.
He called upon Kenyans to wake up early and exercise their democratic right of voting leaders of their choice since leaders are only chosen through the ballot.
