The county government of Uasin Gishu has declared a fresh fight against distribution and selling of illicit liquor from neighboring country Uganda.
Governor Jackson Mandago says his administration will do everything possible to stop the illegal substance from flooding the county's market.
Speaking in Eldoret on Monday, Mandago said there will be no more sale of alcohol brands from neighboring Uganda.
"The future of our youth is uncertain due to consumption of these (alcohol) brands from Uganda," the vocal governor lamented.
"As leaders, we cannot sit back; we have to enforce tough regulations for if we don't, our children are being swept into this bad wave of bad alcohol," he added.
The county government of Uasin Gishu has been battling illicit liquor from Uganda most of which is packed in sachets.
At some point in November last year, governor Mandago claimed some police officers were helping unscrupulous businesspersons transport the illegal alcohol into the county from Uganda through the trains.
