Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has promised to improve infrastructure in his second term in office.
He said his administration will facilitate adequate, modern and well-functioning social and economic infrastructure.
"In the last 5 years we managed to acquire road equipment worth Sh634 million," he said in Eldoret town, Wednesday.
"With the machines we graded 3,600 km of roads, graveled 1,450 km, opened up 156.55 km of new roads, mostly in rural areas and constructed over 28 bridges. We are poised to do even more,” he added.
He also assured residents that he will continue to upgrade the ICT systems including free Wi-Fi in designated areas within the CBD and other urban centres to enhance access to information and services.
“We will also establish ICT training Centre and empower one hundred youths per ward per year on the use of internet for job creation and job search,” noted the governor.
