Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has pledged his support for the controversial Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter's re-election bid.
Speaking on Saturday in Cheptiret, Kesses constituency, during the funeral service of the grandmother of Uasin Gishu Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer, Mandago lauded Keter's performance as Member of Parliament in championing for the interests of the Kalenjin community at the national arena.
“I have decided that I will support and campaign for the re-election of Keter because of his track record. He has been at the forefront championing for the interests of the community and Kenyans at large,”said Mandago.
The county chief, however, confirmed that he will not be supporting anybody seeking any elective seat within Uasin Gishu County.
“I will not campaign for anyone in Uasin Gishu County, I will let residents pick their leaders of choice,” the governor declared.
