[Photo: Elvanis Ronoh].People living with disabilities (PLWD’s) in Uasin Gishu have urged Governor Jackson Mandago to consider them while appointing County Chief Officers (CO).The umbrella chairperson of people with disabilities Regina Chumba said they will represent their needs.“As people with disabilities we humbly ask our governor Jackson Mandago to consider us while appointing chief officers since we did not get even one CEC since disability is not inability,” she said in Eldoret, Thursday."This will make us feel part of his administration because we will have one of our own who will speak on our behalf and present our grievances," she added.She, however, warned parents who are still hiring people with a disability that they will be arrested and charged since it is against the law.“Let us embrace people with disability they are just like other Kenyans only that they are disabled. You should remember disability is not inability,” noted Chumba.
