Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has warned the county executives who try to sabotage his work through non-performance.

The new county executives were sworn-in last week.

Speaking in his office after meeting representatives of people living with disabilities, the governor said that he wants to leave a good legacy at the end of his second term.

He noted that county executives are the key to the delivery of promises and manifestos and that they will be held responsible for any failure in their dockets.

“This time around, everyone has to do his or her work. If the county assembly recalls any of you for non-performance, I will approve that,” said Mandago. He also added that anyone who feels unable to work will be free to resign and go home.

In addition, Governor Mandago said that executives will be assessed after every three months and that they must engage the public on a daily basis instead of sitting in the county offices.

“If I go out there and discover people do not know you as a county executive, that will be an automatic ticket to sacking you because it will show you are not in touch with residents,” warned the governor.
