"Happy Ramadan our Muslim brothers and sisters," he said
Ramadan is the holiest month for Muslims as it is regarded to be the month that the holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad on the night of Laylat al-Qadr, one of the last 10 nights of Ramadan.
Ramadan in 2018 started on Wednesday, the 16th of May (16/5/2018) and will continue for 30 days until Thursday, the 14th of June.
This is a special period for the Muslims because it is the most precious month in the Islamic calendar (Hijri) and it is obligatory for the Muslims to fast in the month of Ramadan.
