Mbugua in a statement to the media on Sunday said that Kabogo’s remarks were misplaced and does not reflect the views of the Mt Kenya region.

Governor Mbugua said that Mt Kenya leaders are fully behind DP Ruto.

“Our support for DP Ruto is intact and no volume of selfish statements will change that,” said the Nakuru County boss.

Mbugua stated that Mt Kenya region struck a deal with leaders in the Rift Valley in 2013, and the same will not change.

Mbugua urged Kabogo and other leaders to stop making statements that will cause rifts in Jubilee government.

Governor Kabogo has been on the receiving end over the statement he is allegedly said to have made last week while in Juja.

Several leaders from Mt Kenya region have hit out at Kabogo telling him that he is not the region’s spokesperson.

Kabogo has however defended himself against the statement.

On Saturday, Kabogo accused his critics of using the media to blow up the issue.

“Some people are working with the media for my downfall and I want to tell them that I will not go down,” said Kabogo.
