Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has promised to fight all cartels working in cahoots at City Hall to defraud the county and its residents.
Taking to his Facebook page, the governor said he had reversed some tendering processes with an aim of starting afresh.
Sonko said that they were forced to do so in order to weed out cartels swindling Nairobians of their money.
"To deal with fictitious claims by dishonest cartels and fraudsters we have set up a team to vet, verify and validate all pending claims. I request all suppliers and members of the public to give us a little time to fast-track this process," he said.
His spirited fight against cartels comes barely two weeks after his deputy resigned, leaving him with the bulk of work to redeem the city.
