Kisii county governor James Ongwae has vowed to move on with his development agenda despite criticisms from some local leaders.
The governor noted that a section of MPs from the area was out to maliciously sabotage development programmes initiated by his government.
Without mentioning names Ongwae said the MPs who had failed to deliver services to their constituents were only out to ignite political debates aimed at maligning the county government.
Speaking at Suneka market in Kisii South sub-county on Wednesday evening, the governor said he had not interfered with anyone’s development programmes and thus no one should interfere with his development initiatives.
Ongwae observed that the lawmakers were facilitating secret meetings with county MCAs planning to sabotage his activities despite the previously cordial relationship.
“Political interference on my projects will not deter the progress so I want to call on my friends to stop unnecessary criticisms but join hands to spearhead development in this region,” he added.
He added that politics on how the debts facing the county government were incurred would not deter his development agenda for Kisii.
