Rowdy youths allied to Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti and Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga clashed on Wednesday after a meeting turned chaotic.

Youths allied to the County boss blocked the MPs motorcade which was heading to the venue of a meeting with the Muslim community living in Kendu Bay.

The two opposing camps pelted stones at each other, forcing the Member of Parliament to scamper for safety.

A man was seriously injured during the clashes. He was rushed to Rachuonyo North sub county hospital.

MP Magwanga accused Governor Awiti of sponsoring the youth to disrupt the meeting.

The county boss has however denied the accusations.
