Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has this morning casted his vote in one of the polling stations in Machakos county.Voting in the county has proceeded, however, with a lower turn out despite calls from the opposition outfit to boycott the election process.Machakos county is perceived NASA stronghold now that it is where one of the co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka takes his origin.Speaking shortly after voting, Mutua appealed to the residents of Machakos to turn out and exercise their democratic right.NASA leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday at a rally in Uhuru park Nairobi asked his supporters to keep away from the polling stations and not to cause any form of violence. However, NASA supporters in Kisumu county have protested but anti riot police have dispersed them using teargas canisters.Generally, there has been voter apathy in NASA strongholds while in Jubilee strongholds particularly central Kenya, voters have turned up.
