Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKL Show on Sunday, Mutua said he has what it takes to beat the second in command when that time comes.

Mutua noted that he has an exemplary performance scoreboard, stating he has what it takes to lead this nation.

“I can beat William Ruto for the presidency in 2022. We have 4 years ahead of us," Mutua said.

Mutua spoke days after his August 8, 2017 re-election victory was nullified by the Court of Appeal.

The governor's remarks elicited mixed reactions from citizens.
