Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has dismissed the Kamba Leaders Unity Forum held at Koma in Matungulu, Machakos County on Monday.
The meeting gave Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka a green light to rally for presidency in 2022 elections.
Mutua on his Facebook page posted that the meeting had no development or economic empowerment agenda, but was rather a platform for Wiper leaders for chest thumping.
He said the leaders speeches were full of insults which have no meaning in uniting the Kamba community.
"The meeting has been full of insults, chest thumping and ultimatums that really do not lead to the real unity of purpose. There was no development or economic empowerment agenda discussed. The meeting was all about the political interests of an individual and not the plight of over 4 million Kamba people," Mutua posted.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader, however, said neutral and respected religious leaders from the region should be involved if indeed a unity meeting has to be convened for the Kamba community.
"As Maendeleo Chap Chap, we demand a real and not a fake unity meeting. The meeting should be convened by neutral and respected religious leaders and elders. We are ready for such a neutral and well-meaning meeting that discusses the plight of our people in a respectful and organized manner," Mutua stated.
Mutua said MCC party leaders will be touring all parts of Kenya to popularize their presidential candidate.
"As we await for such a meeting, Maendeleo Chap Chap leaders will be touring Kenya popularizing our presidential bid. To win the Presidency, a leader needs to be accepted across the country," Mutua said.
