It was song and dance as Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua officially launched his Maendeleo Chap Chap movement at the Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi on Thursday 25th August night.
The movement, according to Mutua, is aimed at improving the welfare and living standards of everybody in this country quickly.
He said that the movement is expected to have branches in wards across the country.
The glamorous event was attended by more than 3,000 delegates from all over the country.
Mutua hailed Cord leader Raila Odinga's recent remarks that Kenyans should not be divided on the basis of political parties, saying that he was still a member of Wiper.
After the launch, Mutua gave the delegates a question and answer session where they asked him questions and he answered them.
Asked whether Maendeleo Chap Chap is a party or just a movement, Mutua called it a movement saying that whether it shall be a party shall remain to be seen in future.
"I am not competing with anybody. I am competing with poverty," he said.
He was accompanied by his wife.
