Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya will host his Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua as from today April 12, as the latter starts his maiden bench marking tour of Kakamega County.
Mutua is expected to visit various projects in Kakamega County including Khaunga bridge, Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital that is under construction, Level IV hospitals and modern markets among others.
He will be accompanied by a delegation from the Machakos County Government.
Speaking on the sidelines of Mutua's visit, Governor Oparanya expressed optimism that the two counties will work closely together to improve the living standards of the residents.
Mutua recently toured Nyeri County on a bench marking trip where he was hosted by Governor Mutahi Kahiga.
The governor's bench marking trips has elicited mixed reactions among residents and politicians from Machakos County.
Some feel Mutua is wasting time and resources moving around instead of implementing development projects in his own Machakos County.
