The second term governor took to social media and shared a photo of him and the opposition leader’s advisor.

Mutua, however, did not disclose the meeting's details.

He posted: “Earlier today met Dr. Silas Jakakimba, an advisor to former Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga when he paid a courtesy call to my Machakos office.”

The governor has called for a lifestyle audit on all government senior officials.

He argues that the move will curb increasing cases of corruption in the nation.

Mutua said there are many Kenyans suffering at the expense of a few individuals.

“Those who will fail to explain how they acquired their fabulous wealth should have the property confiscated and returned to the people of Kenya who are the rightful owners,” Mutua said.

He also hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta for his effort to fight corruption.

Mutua further urged Kenyatta not to tolerate corrupt leaders in his government.

“Those stealing are near you and are maligning your name through their actions. Deal with them ruthlessly and show Kenyans there are no sacred cows in your administration,” Mutua said.
