Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua now says his county has made great achievements in the agricultural sector.
Speaking on Friday, Mutua said Machakos is completely out of the list of counties facing possible starvation resulting from food shortage.
The achievements, according to him, are attributed to the county administration's successful efforts to ensure food security in the North Eastern County.
He observed that the county's move to avail free tractors, free seeds, successful farming policies, day old chicks for poultry farmers and subsidized fertilizers has aided farmers in producing maximum harvest.
''In Machakos, we are pleased that we are no longer in the list of counties receiving food relief due to our agricultural policies of free tractors, free seeds, day old chics, subsidized fertilizer etc,'' tweeted the county chief.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader, who has announced his Presidential ambitions for the 2022 general election hailed his leadership, banking on his young age and experience to take the nation to the next level.
He called upon leaders to unite under the national development agenda to help the nation realize its development goals.
''There is a new generational change of leadership, with fresh ideas and new ways of doing things. With God's help, embracing devolution and working together as leaders, we will propel Kenya to great heights,'' Mutua said in a separate tweet.
