Are you a form four leaver in Machakos County? Have you gotten an admission letter to any higher learning institution but you do not have money to pay tuition fees? Do not worry. Here is what Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua is planning for you.
According to his manifesto for Machakos County 2017-2022 (available at www.machakosgovernment.com), through his Higher Education Scholarship Fund, your college fees will be taken care of.
He says that,” every Machakos County Form four leaver regardless of the grade, who is admitted for a CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA, HIGHER DIPLOMA, DEGREE COURSE, MASTERS or PHD, my Government will pay the student’s 100% fees until completion. • Starting August 15th, 2018.”
Coming at a time of mass failure in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, this should act as the only encouragement to disillusioned form four leavers, especially those coming from poor background.
Alfred was re-elected as the governor of Machakos County in an election which his opponent alleged was rigged in his favor. His opponent Wavinya Ndeti filed an election petition against him but the High Court ruled in his favor last week. Mutua has promised the people of Machakos that he will settle down for work and deliver on his manifesto.
